New Year's Wishes
New Years Resolutions are a waste of time. Really, I never follow through with them, perhaps because they are for an entire year. Even Lent is easier because itís only 40 days. Letís say you give up ice cream for Lent, itís only for 40 days, but give up something for a year? On top of that resolutions are negative. Iíve never heard anyone say ďMy New Years Resolution is to be happy.Ē Nope, instead during the holidays I hear people say ďIíll start my diet on New Years.Ē Resolutions, donít you dread them?
This year Iím making a wish list. Iím creating a list of events to experience. These are things I want to do this year. I am planning meaningful, positive experiences in my life.
A year of excitement, of possibilities, a fun year. Isnít that better than a New Years Resolution? Who ever heard of a fun resolution? Do you still dream? How could you get closer to your dream? What makes you smile?
What would help you look forward to the next year? What would propel you to jump out of bed before the alarm clock went off? What are your New Years wishes?
Depends on us... Another year lies before us like an unwritten page, an
unspent coin, an unwalked road. The pages will read, what treasures will
be gained in exchange for time, or what we find alone the way, will
largely depend on us."
